Headquarters: Kampala, Uganda Directors: Pastor Butch and Janeffer Dodzweit and Family
Annie Farrell visiting the Dodzweit family in Uganda
This Partner works with the extreme poor in the capital city of Kampala and surrounding areas, as well as regions in Northern Uganda to provide food, clothing, shelter, education and church and community support. The Dodzweit family and their team run a boarding school in Kampala that houses and educates over 700 children and young adults (from pre-school through high school).
Their programs help prepare the children and young people for productive and promising adult lives. In addition, they assist refugees from surrounding countries who have suffered under the terrors of conflict and war. Butch and Janeffer lived through the reign of Uganda’s ruthless dictator Idi Amin, and they still reach out to survivors of the Lord’s Resistance Army in Northern Uganda
Butch contacted us one day regarding their need for a new roof on a church and community center building. The rains had been so heavy in Uganda that their original roof had collapsed. We sent Butch the funding needed to replace this roof.
Butch then told us that when he presented the funds for the new roof to the church leaders, they presented him with a big turkey! Butch sent his heartfelt thanks to us and told us that, "We will be eating this turkey in honor of all the people who are supporting Annie's Resale for the World!"
Annie's Resale for the Word partnered with Pastor Butch to build this church in Busia, Uganda. The entire congregation gathered to celebrate the opening!
Annie's Resale for the World was able to help build this colorful playground for the children in the school that our Uganda Partners run in the capital city of Kampala. Pastor Butch presented Annie and the team with this photo of the plaque that now appears inside the playground. We were so honored!
